How Women Love

How Women Love

As women I believe we have an innate desire to take care of others. So when we love we do so fiercely and unselfishly. We tend to put others needs before our own. We love others based on our own concept of love formed from our culture, faith and life experiences. This concept of love may be flawed.

For myself, I never truly loved myself or anyone else until I received the revelation of God’s great love for me. John 3:16 says that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son Jesus so that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God sent us His best gift, His only Son. God didn’t spare any expense. He considered us so valuable, so precious that He sent His one and only Son to pay the price for our sins so that we could become part of His family. You are so valuable to God. Understanding how valuable and how loved you are by God is essential.

God’s love is unconditional. God decided to love us and sent Jesus to redeem us when we were sinners and didn’t even know Him. There is nothing we have to do to earn God’s love and there is nothing that we can do that will cause it to stop. The bible says that nothing, not even death, can separate us from God’s love because it’s based on Jesus’ sacrifice and not our performance. When God looks at us He sees Jesus! This revelation of God’s love helped me to deal with the trauma of my past and helped me to forgive. It wasn’t easy but God’s love gave me the strength to face my fears so that I could be healed and move forward in life. It can do the same for you too.

God’s love is empowering. God calls us His “Beloved”.God is not mad at us, He is madly in love with us! When you find out who God says you are from His word, it transforms you from the inside out causing you to gain confidence, courage and strength to do things that you never thought you could do. God’s love empowers you to imagine a better life for yourself and your family. God’s love causes us to dream, to set goals and have a vision and purpose for our lives.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe because God is love and everything He does is motivated by love. Jesus is love personified. He came to earth to serve and be a ransom for us. This is why we can trust Him with our lives because He has our best interests

at heart. God in His great love wants to bless us, to prosper us, to heal us, to deliver us and to give us a future and a hope.3

The bible says that the love of God never fails. Why? Because love is a person and His name is Jesus. He is faithful and true. God wanted a family and that is why He created you and me to be a part of it. The entire bible is a story of God building a family who will love him, honour him and reign with him forever. Our life is part of God’s love story.

Love is an action. Love is a choice. Love is work.Love persists through adversity. Love is forward looking, optimistic and full of hope. There is only one commandment in the New Testament; it is the commandment to love one another. I believe that there is only one because it encompasses all the others. Walking in love towards others and ourselves is what we are commanded to do.

How should women love? Women should love like God shows us in 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13. Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on it’s own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Women should love like God loves.

Jesus is our example of how to love. God’s love is a sacrificial and unconditional love.

As women, we have this God given ability to love but we must remember to love ourselves the same way that we love others. Self-love is often overlooked. You cannot really love anyone until you first love and accept yourself. God created you the way you are on purpose. He didn’t make a mistake. There is nothing broken and nothing missing in you. He calls you His masterpiece. Accepting God’s love for you empowers you to be able to walk in love towards others. I’m so thankful that God’s love has been shed abroad in my heart so I can love people with God’s love when mine is lacking or reluctant.

It’s this revelation of God’s great love for me and His actual love within me that helps me to walk in love.

God’s love healed my heart, restored my soul and made me whole so that I can love others and it can do the same for you. Let Jesus (Love

personified) into your heart. It will change everything in your life for the better! The best part of your story is yet to be written. Let God be the author of your life story.
