Let Hope Arise: Part 3

6 Steps to get rid of any residual un-forgiveness in your heart

You do not have to go another day with the pain of un-forgiveness in your heart. Let this be your defining moment. Let this is your do-over moment. Be intentional about getting free. Get away by yourself some where, grab a journal or some paper and pen. I followed these 6 steps based on Terri Savelle Foy’s teachings years ago in a Victorious Living class and God set me free. If He did it for me then he’ll do it for you too. Expect to be set free.

Your 6 steps are:

1. Make a list of all the things that you’ve done that are still haunting and tormenting you from your past. Mistakes, sins, regrets etc. If you can think it, then it’s still there. This is not for anyone to read, this is just between you and God. Get it out of your head and on paper. If you can think it, then ink it!

2. Make a list of all the hurts and injustices that people have done to you. Be specific. Put down their names and exactly what they did. Ex. rejected you, violated you, abandoned you, manipulated you, bullied you, used you, betrayed you etc. Dig up all the hurts no matter how painful and write them down. Especially those times when you were mad at God and cried out ”Why Me?!”. This may take you a few days to do. Take your time and get them all out. Dig up every root that may be keeping you tethered to the past.

3. Hold those pages up before God:  A. Hold those pages where you wrote all the things from your past that arestill tormenting you and confess it all as sin. Then ask God to forgive you for those sins. He already knows but it is therapeutic for you to say it and get it all out. Then believe that God’s word is the truth and you are 100%  Refer to forgiveness scriptures given in Part 2 of this teaching.

B. Next, present your list of hurts to the Lord. Go down the list and declare with your mouth say “I choose by faith to forgive so and so in the name of Jesus”. “In the name of Jesus I choose to forgive them.” Remember that you are doing this for you not them. Forgiving them doesn’t condone what they did to you but it makes you free.

4. Rip the pages up. Tear them up into little shreds or put them through the shredder if you have one so they can never be put back together again. Do not leave one word legible. Rip it up as a symbol of you tearing it out of your heart, never to be remembered again. If you want you can burn them too. Torch those memories! This part is so liberating!

5. Thank God for answering your prayer. Start thanking God for loving you and forgiving you and giving you a fresh start or do-over. This will set you free. God loves you so much and He wants you to have hope for the present and for the future. Thank God for John 3:16, for sending His Son so that you can be set free.

6. Monitor your self -talk. Satan is called the accuser of the brethren in Revelation 12:10 because he will always try to bring up your past. He wants you to feel unworthy so when he does you need to immediately do this; start speaking scriptures and positive affirmations out loud over your life. Your spirit, your body responds to your voice the most, above all other voices. Therefore, your self -talk is very important. Do like Jesus did when he was tempted in the desert, speak the Word of God (Matthew 4:4-6). Say devil “It is written,” I am forgiven, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus etc.”

If speaking kindly to plants helps them grow, imagine what speaking kindly to your self can do. (Natalie Quote)

If we weren’t supportively talked through tough situations while we were growing up, chances are we’re not good at talking ourselves through tough situations now. It’s a skill. We can learn it. If we’re bad at it we can get better at it. Just start talking kindly to yourself today. Dr. Glenn Patrick Doyle

Satan hates hearing the name of Jesus and the Word of God spoken out of your mouth. As you speak God’s word, he will begin to recognize your authority and he has to flee. The bible says to resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7). You resist him when you refuse to entertain negative thoughts from your past. If you do this consistently, the enemy will never be able to torment you with memories of your past ever again.

By Following these 6 steps will give you a supernatural amnesia. What I mean by this is, you will no longer think about or even remember your past sins and mistakes but instead you will be empowered by God’s great love for you. You’ll begin thinking about your purpose and fulfilling your life assignment. You’ll be hopeful about the future. God’s love heals your broken heart so you can conquer your past and move forward into the hopeful and bright future God has for you.

Conclusion:

Following these steps will make your dreams and hopes bigger than your memories and your past. You can only conquer your past by focusing on your future. Hope is one of God’s names. We are called a people of hope. God is a God of hope. In a hopeless world we are called to rekindle our hope and share the hope we have in Jesus with others. You have hope for this new season because Hope lives on the inside of you. You always have Hope because God so loved the world (John 3:16). One drop of the blood of Jesus is greater than all the sin of the human race. Hope releases you from the bondage of your past.

Some of you have been holding onto your regrets so hard that you’re missing this present moment. You’ve been living in the past and only existing in the present.

Some of you are so busy thinking about people who left you that you’re not able to receive the love of the ones who stayed.

It’s time for you to break free from your past by taking hold of some new thoughts. Thoughts that are in line with the Word of God. You can’t control every thought you have but you can control which thoughts you hold. Steven Furtick

God wants us to overcome our past and overcome the fear of the future by giving us Hope for this new season.

By following the steps I shared tonight, I believe and declare that you will align yourself with heaven’s agenda, find your purpose and remain hopeful and optimistic during times of change. During times of uncertainty we can have hope because absolutely nothing catches God by surprize, He’s got a plan. May this teaching ignite supernatural hope in you which turns to supernatural faith. This shall be our best year ever if you act on the information shared tonight. Be a doer of the word not just a hearer. The future belongs to those who love God and are called for His purpose. The future belongs to you and I! Let hope rise up in you! Leave your past behind you and pursue your purpose full of hope!
